Hello, I’m Cleon Jones, and I’ve been proud to call Virginia Beach my home since 1984. I grew up here, attending Independence Junior High and Princess Anne High School, where I laid the foundation for my lifelong commitment to this community. Over the years, I’ve lived in various homes within the district, and for the past 23 years, I’ve been a proud resident of my current neighborhood. I’ve built strong, positive relationships with my neighbors and have always been dedicated to making our community better.
My career has been deeply rooted in our district, and with 28 years as a veteran firefighter , I've seen the issues facing our district and city every day. This job has given me firsthand experience with the challenges and needs of our community, and it’s driven my passion for public service.
My wife of 22 years shares my commitment to serving our community. She is a dedicated educator, and currently works as a public school teacher. Together, we have three wonderful children who have followed in my footsteps, attending the same schools I once did. We believe in the power of local education and staying actively involved in our district's growth and prosperity.
My family and I are deeply woven into the fabric of this community. We support local businesses and understand the importance of sustaining our district’s economy. Through my work and personal life, I’ve built many long-lasting friendships and relationships in this community—bonds that I truly cherish. Now, I’m looking forward to continuing this commitment by serving as your City Council member.
I hope you will join me on our effort for a brighter Virginia Beach.
